Richard Doul Callahan, 75, passed away May 15, 2018, at his home in Santa Clara, Utah. He was born July 5, 1942, in Ontario, Oregon, to George Cassell and Wanda (Ure) Callahan.
Richard grew up in Chula Vista, California. He graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1960. After high school he served an LDS mission in England.
Richard married his sweetheart, Patricia Gail, early in 1965 in the Los Angeles LDS temple in California. At her passing in 2015, they had been happily married for almost 50 years.
Richard was a committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the community as president of his local Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce in San Diego. He enjoyed talking politics, shooting guns and spending time with his family.
Richard was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Patricia; parents, Cas and Wanda Callahan; and his brothers, George and Michael Callahan.
Richard is survived by his sons, Scott (Christina) and Matt (Rebekah); his daughters, Amber (John) Ingersoll and Autumn (James) Washington; his grandchildren, James, Natalie, Demetrious (Leslie), Emilie, Conan, Maria, Day, Abigail, Matthew, Sophia, Thomas, Nya, David, Lorenzo, Elizabeth; his great-grandchild, Demi; and his loving siblings, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services
- Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 3815 Rachel Drive, Santa Clara, Utah.
- A visitation will be held prior to service, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church.
- Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
