ST. GEORGE — Before you head out for the day’s festivities, consider giving the gift of blood for those in need this Independence Day.
United Blood Services Nevada will be conducting a blood drive Wednesday at the Virgin River Hotel and Casino Events Center, 100 E. Pioneer Boulevard, in Mesquite, Nevada, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We are projecting an especially high need for platelet donations for this July 4th,” Tyler Patterson, communications specialist for United Blood Services Nevada, said in a message to St. George News. “The need is real.”
“Holiday weeks are typically high-need times for hospitals, emergency responders and the like,” Patterson said, “and so at times like these, every donation counts.”
