Washington County to get 2nd LDS temple, church president says
SALT LAKE CITY — At the end of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ semiannual general conference Sunday afternoon, church president Russell M. Nelson announced plans to build 12 new temples, including one in Washington County.

Thousands finish St. George Marathon in cool, wet conditions; photo gallery
ST. GEORGE — The weather was a bit wet but otherwise ideal as thousands of runners took part in the 42nd annual St. George Marathon Saturday, making their way to the finish line under overcast skies with temperatures in the low 60s. Intermittent rain fell on the runners as they made their way to the finish at Vernon Worthen Park, many of them being cheered on by family members and friends.

Double-tanker rollover at Bluff Street-Snow Canyon intersection spills 6,300 gallons of milk
ST. GEORGE — A double-tanker semitractor hauling thousands of gallons of milk rolled while turning at a Bluff Street intersection, breaking open one of the tanks and sending milk pouring down the roadway Sunday morning.
