IVINS — Chef Hog’s Cafe will host the first Oktoberfest at Tuacahn Center for the Arts on Saturday with events and activities featuring more than just beer.

The festivities will kick off with German Alp horns sounding from the top of the red rocks of Padre Canyon in Ivins overlooking the Tuacahn Amphitheater. The Oktoberfest celebration of German culture is free to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature beer, wine, bratwursts, family-friendly entertainment and activities.

Located just minutes west of St. George, patrons will be able to enjoy authentic German food such as bratwursts, sauerkraut, German barbecue chicken, pretzels and other German desserts and pastries. There will be live music, dance performances, vendors, and children’s activities including a climbing wall, mechanical bull, bounce house and face painting.

“Nothing like this has been done in Ivins and to be able to do it at a beautiful venue like Tuacahn is such an opportunity for us and the community,” said Jeff Germain, executive chef at Chef Hog’s Cafe. “We just want to provide an event where families and event-goers can enjoy great food from myself and several VIP guest chefs, great music, German beers and wine, all surrounded by an amazing backdrop. Our hope is for this event to be around for many years to come.”
