Couple celebrates 65th wedding anniversary

ST. GEORGE Clive and Joan Burgess of St. George and Mountain Meadows celebrated their 65th anniversary on Sunday.

Joan Palmer (pronounced Jo-Ann) came from Blanding, Utah to attend Dixie College where she met Clive Milton Burgess, a St. George native. They were married in the St. George Temple on April 3, 1951.

Clive and Joan have five children: Cindy (Mike) Alldredge of Snohomish Washington, Joe (Bev) Burgess of Cedar City and Ed (Lori) Burgess, Keith (Ila) Burgess, Mark (Kathy) Burgess of St. George. They have 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

The couple divides their time between their home in St. George and their ranch at Mountain Meadows where they raise hay, cattle and grow a large vegetable garden each summer.
