CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — “The Internet People” at InfoWest have been proudly serving communities across Southern Utah since 1994. Although internet technology has evolved by leaps and bounds over the years, one thing that hasn’t changed is the company’s commitment to taking care of every customer and helping them stay connected to today’s digital world.

We are continuing to help St. George grow by bringing fiber to homes to make streaming, working from home and gaming better with less buffering,” InfoWest co-founder and COO Randy Cosby said.

InfoWest is currently laying fiber in parts of St. George, and Cosby said he expects work in the downtown area to be completed soon. Fiber is also being installed in downtown Cedar City as well as several nearby subdivisions.

Staying true to their roots, the company continues to prioritize expanding high-speed internet access in rural areas. InfoWest recently completed a fiber installation project in Monroe and is now bringing fiber to Annabella, a small town in Sevier County.

InfoWest’s fiber footprint is growing rapidly throughout Southern Utah, Cosby said, adding that the company has plans to bring fiber to Washington City and Hurricane in the near future. Plans start at 250 megabits per second and top out at 2 gigabits per second, which is more than enough to power the needs of both residential and business customers. Unlike many internet service providers, InfoWest offers symmetrical download and upload speeds for seamless streaming, gaming, video chatting and more.

Along with installing fiber in new developments, InfoWest is also upgrading the existing broadband infrastructure in many other neighborhoods. Current InfoWest customers will receive a free upgrade to fiber as soon as it becomes available in their area, enabling them to enjoy faster speeds while also future-proofing their network.

InfoWest’s customer service and technical support professionals are the best in the business, Cosby said. Tech support agents are available by phone 24/7, and the average wait time to speak with a customer service rep during business hours is usually less than a minute.

Earlier this year, InfoWest won Best of State in the telecommunications category, which covers TV, internet and phone service providers throughout Utah. Best of State candidates are evaluated by a panel of judges based on their ability to excel in their endeavors, use innovative approaches or methods and contribute to a better quality of life for all Utahns. It’s the first time the company has received this prestigious honor.

InfoWest also earned four awards in the 2023 Best of Southern Utah competition, including a second consecutive gold medal for customer service as well as silver medals for internet provider, telecom and community partner. Best of Southern Utah winners are selected by popular vote, and this year’s contest was the largest ever with more than 700,000 votes cast and over 1,300 local businesses on the ballot.

InfoWest is always working to make high-speed internet available to everyone. The company has partnered with the Affordable Connectivity Program to provide a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible low-income households and up to $75 per month for households on tribal lands. With InfoWest’s assistance, qualifying customers can obtain speeds of up to 100 Mbps at no cost.

Along with industry-leading speed and stability, InfoWest offers top-of-the-line routers and apps to help customers control their network and keep their personal information safe. The company also provides security, VoIP phone service and IT support. Many of the largest events in Southern Utah rely on InfoWest’s decades of connectivity experience and knowledge to get online.

“We’re big enough to get you the speeds you want and bring fiber to your home, yet small enough to treat you like our neighbor – because we are neighbors,” Cosby said. “Our goal is to provide the ultimate internet experience.”
